Together with Teaching plan.no MakeKit is an interdisciplinary coding project to create and code a device to improve social distancing.
The teaching program uses the micro:bit that most elementary schools have gained access to through Super:bit project, to create an electronic alert device that notifies you if you are too close to another person.
This is a project suitable for 4th - 7th grade in the subjects:
-
Arts and crafts
-
Science subject
-
Mathematics
The learning plan also describes which learning objectives are covered.
For those looking for a bigger challenge, the extended project can be found here: https://www.makekit.no/smittebit-lag-en-smittevarsler-med-microbit/

We are available both on Facebook chat and by email: support@makekit.no
We also want to hear from those of you who run the program, so please get in touch!
The project stems from the project that was developed during the live broadcast on NRK and the nerd night where different teams were tasked with creating devices for infection control.
In this project, we are using micro:bit, which most primary schools have received a limited number of through Super:bit. Micro:bit can also be purchased in a number of stores. It can also be purchased as an add-on to bla WonderKit.
Projects in line with the subject renewal and competence goals
A natural continuation of this project and Super:bit is Wonder:Kit, a system of creator-friendly products for micro:bit that is designed in line with the subject renewal. This system contains everything you need to start coding. The Wonder:Kit system is based on the core values of the subject renewal with the joy of creation, engagement and exploration, in addition to being made of environmentally friendly materials such as wood and cardboard.
We hope that everyone will benefit from the project and that the project is engaging!
