Air:bit 2 is a programmable drone building kit based on micro:bit. With this kit you can build, code and fly your own quadcopter drone. Developed by drone expert Henning Pedersen, known from Makeadrone and MakeKit, Air:bit 2 builds on over ten years of experience in drone development.
Air:bit 2 isn't just for tech-savvy individuals - it's also used in schools, science centers and code clubs as an educational platform for hands-on learning.
Combine technology and creativity
With Air:bit 2, you get a holistic experience, where you both physically build the drone and program it yourself. The kit supports coding in MakeCode, JavaScript and Python, allowing users of different skill levels to develop exciting projects. You can also design your own drone by 3D printing frames and customizing it to your liking.
To get started, you build the drone by assembling laser-cut parts and connecting the micro:bit to the specially developed control board.
Then follow the video guide to program the remote control and learn how another micro:bit is used to control the drone. This will give you a thorough understanding of how the drone works. The accompanying flight video will help you get started. The drone is controlled by the motion sensor in the micro:bit remote control, so some practice is required.

Notes: To fly the drone, you need two micro:bits, at least one of which must be micro:bit v2 (can be purchased separately).
