Our history
MakeKit was started by Henning Pedersen and Steinar Holøs. Both have a genuine interest in technology and are passionate about making education relevant, interesting and inspiring. It all started with Henning Pedersen and Makeadrone. He wanted everyone to experience the joy of building their own drone. In 2018, Henning and Steinar realized that together they could use this foundation to make a difference in education. They joined forces and founded MakeKit in 2019 with the goal of creating buildable products for education. The first kit launched was Air:bit in the fall of 2019. It was a huge success as the world's first and only micro:bit drone. Air:bit is one of the most advanced and exciting micro:bit kits still available today.
